Either on a contract basis or in-house, my services are always friendly and professional. To use my technical skills and creative talent to make it happen visually.

Experience
Currently Owner/Designer of fresh design, a small in-house graphic design studio. My Apple design station is loaded with the most current Adobe Creative Suite tools. I also collaborate with an experienced photographer and Web developer, providing professional design services for the discerning client. We can produce a full range of publications, from conception to a polished finish, while keeping up with technology and the challenge it brings. 1992 - present

As the Creative Director of the International Festivals & Events Association, located in Port Angeles, Wash., my responsibilities included: the design, layout and production of FESTIVALS: The How-To of Festivals and Events, a full-color quarterly magazine for association members; the development of marketing-related materials for association advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors and the design and production of all convention-related promotional pieces, including signs, forms and logos. Gained a strong knowledge of the four-color process while working with several quality printers in setting up pre-press files. Instrumental in developing the first Web site for the organization - www.ifea.com, while directing our Web developer to maintain the highest design standards. 1998 - 2002

Employed as a Graphic Designer/Print Coordinator for King Typesetting & Printing in Friday Harbor, Wash. As a small family-owned print shop, my responsibilities were unlimited but included design, print production, repairing electronic files, customer service and print estimating. 1997 - 98.

While enjoying life on San Juan Island raising my young daughter, I worked on-call for the San Juan County Public Works department, answering phones and basic reception duties, including transmittals and filing. I also worked part-time for The Journal of the San Juans, the local island newspaper as a graphic artist. 1996 - 97

Before moving to beautiful Friday Harbor, Wash. I designed technical publications and advertising materials as a Graphic Artist for SPIE – The International Society for Optical Engineers, in Bellingham, Wash., on a Macintosh-based system with programs such as Photoshop, Pagemaker, Freehand and Illustrator. Communicated internally on a VAX system for e-mail and retrieval of text files. Enjoyed the production deadlines and working with a diverse staff of technical editors and graphic artists. Often commended on my creative solutions in graphic design. 1990 - 92

As a Forms Designer for Seafirst Bank, in Seattle, Wash., developed a new Macintosh-based forms design department. Implemented the procedural structure of a design-support department within the corporate environment of a bank. Designed the workstations and production flow for the forms design area and supported other forms analysts in building or revising existing and new forms. Trained as a forms analyst, where I developed productive client relationships with the Residential Real Estate department and supported their hard copy and electronic forms needs. 1988 - 90

Developed excellent rapport with corporate clients as a Graphic Artist and Typesetter for Seafirst Bank, in Seattle, Wash. Chosen to layout the new design of Seafirst News by the corporate communication department because of my sharp attention to detail and ability to maintain composure under stress. Acted as backup to department manager because of my outstanding customer service and effective organizational skills. Enjoyed using my creative talents in designing ads for the marketing and advertising departments. 1985- 88
